Do you know who manufactures its products for hair care?

Where Did you buy their latest product for hair care?

African American men and women spend billions of dollars each year on their hair, consuming more than three quarters of hair care products sold in the U.S. How many of those dollars are paid to companies, Black hair care?

Over the past twenty years or more, most of the wigs, extensions, relaxers, moisturizers, hair curlers, hot combs, brightness, gels, conditioners, oils, shampoos and lotions are brought to you by the Korean businessmen. The 2006 documentary film research, Black Hair, by Aron Ranen tracks of successful efforts by the Koreans, who, recognizing the potential of a lucrative market, asked the U.S. and Korean governments to obtain the economic incentives for assisting in the exploitation of this gold mine. These astute businessmen have gained control of both the retail and manufacturing and wholesale distribution.

Applause! Clapping! Thunderous applause! I mean, standing ovation for a chance to win money in the U.S.. Encore. Encore. Monopoly â € "pass go, collect billions of dollars of Black consumers. The United States is open for business!

To All dinghies out there that are hoping that this is a beating of Korea articleâ € | no! Stop reading immediately. But for all around yolas whoa € ™ would like to be enlightened about how immigrants from a distant place, came to America, stopped, got out and shop opened in our community Black, not read!

Leta € ™ s think for a moment about a brilliant business mogul Madame CJ Walker. Born in 1867, Madame Walker undisputed mother of beauty products and hair care for Black women. The Guinness Book of World Records cited her as the first woman (Black or white) to become a millionaire in his own accomplishments.

outa œPress € â € which has long used a phrase in the Black woman € ™ s vocabulary to describe the process of removing the curls of her beautiful curly hair. Madam CJ Walker was an economic opportunity in the Black women's desire to straighten curls. Through a unique process of combining the raw ingredients, Madame CJ Walker created products for superior hair care to meet demand within Black community to œgoodâ € â € hair.

This early black entrepreneur was not a biochemist, or an experienced entrepreneur. Madame Walker lacked the credentials offered by Spellman, Howard, Fisk, Tuskegee, or the host of other Black schools of his time. She was too poor to pay for college. What Mrs. Walker had was the unique skill of reading what the Black Community want enough to pay again and again. It was to fill that need with goods and Services € "all the way to the bank. She went right past go, collect cash from the pockets of the haves and Black Black not have the consumers alike, to become the richest businessman of his time.

Madame CJ Walker will always be known as the creator of the â € œstraightening comb. She invented € € and â € œpress CURLA Black eye for women of her time. With the application of heat to a comb metal, hair, nappy hair became straight. The straightening comb was a revolution in women € ™ s Black Hair care. Releasedâ curls € "liberated from the bondage of a matt on the sides of beautiful Black head. Yes, this writer is of the country, mate (smile). Madame Walker provided thousands of Black women with the potential to earn a wage worth and move to continue to influence the next generation of Black American entrepreneurs.

The œgoodâ € â € hair look created by the magic of the application of hot comb black hair that turned out to be of short duration. Sweat and humidity caused the Black hair straightened and kills again returning to the sides of ™ € sisters heads. In addition, the look was a lot of work. Fast forward to 2008 - the Black community € ™ s preferences and hair care market demand have allowed billions of dollars, but the current benefits in this sector have been almost completely out from under the Black community. The seeds sown by the innovation of Madame CJ Walker, have somehow been co-opted by the Korean businessmen. How there has been total investment market?

The target customer is the same € "Black men and women. The business of providing goods and services to this customer base has evolved with new products, makeup, hair, tissue, and wigs. The entire shooting match, including magazines Black hair care, fair trade, and a host of other events, is now dominated by Korean business owners. Ninety percent of the hair care business is controlled Black by Korean entrepreneurs.

Here's how it happened.

As Koreans emigrated to America, they needed the income. To stop, gout, and installation shop in white neighborhoods was not allowed. The Black community was be a goldmine for Korean companies. The buyer of Black consumers, often without preference except for the lowest prices, was his goal. We are represented for our hard-earned dollars in the stores where the only common language was a dollar bill in the register. Have you seen the Korean businessman in the pews of Black churches on Sunday - perhaps to deposit some of those dollars after Black in the building fund of the church? Have you ever seen a Korean businessman recognize or sponsor of Juneteenth? Well, leta € ™ s see â € "some large companies like Coca-Cola and Pepsi have joined local Black businesses in recognition of this and other significant dates for Black Americans.

I do not condemn any group to take advantage an opportunity for economic success. But perhaps it is time for Black Americans to take a closer look at the way we spend our dollars. Is our hair a key potential opportunities for employment and growth in the Black community? The Koreans stopped, dropped, and shop fitting in the community Black from across the United States â € "United States open to the public. Why donâ € ™ t stop, drop and settled for us same?
