Hair removal on tattooed areas?

I got a tattoo around my ankle a few weeks ago and as it's almost healed, I'm starting to wonder what kinds of hair removal are safe to use on my tat.
I generally use a shaver, epilator (electrical device that rips out hairs by the roots), or exofoliating-like glove that also removes hair. Although I am no stranger to wax and creams. I am interested in getting laser hair-removal treatments in the future as well, how could this affect my tattoo and can it affect tattoos that wouldn't be getting direct treatment (like if I was to get the treatment on the opposite side of my ankle)?
So basically, what can I use now and in the future, and what effects will each hair removal product have to my tattoo?

First of all, give the design a good long time to heal before you fiddle with it at all. That means ANY form of hair removal; plucking, waxing, exfoliating, even wearing socks that hit that area.

Secondly, lasers are used for not just hair removal, but for tattoo removal and even blemish removal as well. As a result, the only way I could even potentially condone having that sort of permanent hair removal used on ink would be if you spoke to an artist first. One laser treatment does not remove hair from an area; it usually takes upwards of 6 treatments spread out every 4 weeks. Thus, you'll end up with a hair-free ankle with a very splotchy and uneven tattoo. It's possible that electrolysis might be a better bet for that area, but I can't speak from experience there.

On a related note, when I got my first laser treatment done on my face it removed a beauty mark that I had. Just one treatment completely removed this mark that had been on my face for over a decade!
