Any girls here got laser hair removal done for face?
I am a very hair girl, but as all girls know that its so problematic to have unwanted hair on face. I have a lot of unwanted hair on my face, but my sideburns are my major concern cuz the hair on my sideburns are very dark, long, and coarse. Will it be a good idea to get laser hair removal on my entire face? Does anyone has a personal experience about facial hair removal with laser, does it work or does it make the case worse? Is it a permanent solution or does the hair come back after sometime and are there any side effects of it? I already have a lot of problems cuz of my facial hair and I don't want to make the problem worse, so it is very important for me to know all these questions. I have tried bleaching, waxing, and threading on my face in the past, but all these things don't last very long. So, should I opt for laser hair removal on my face? Please, help me on this.
First, take a trip to your gynecologist's office and get some blood work done. Very often, excess hair or really dark facial hair on women is the result of hormonal disorders. If that's the case, then it can be corrected with medication (this will be important). Usually, these aren't very serious, but some hormonal disorders can cause problems like infertility.
The reason I tell you this is because this will (or rather should be) what the laser tech tells you to do after your first visit. Laser hair removal does work on most people. However, if you do have an untreated hormonal disorder, you're wasting your money. If you get your disorder treated, then the hair will usually stay gone.
It's not going to make the growth worse. The laser targets the melanin in the hair root, in order stop growth. The follicle itself isn't killed, so there is always the possibility that in a few years a new hair can grow.
The pain isn't that bad and is very temporary. I've had my chin, cheeks, upper lip done and tried it on my leg once. If you don't have a high threshold for pain, you can get a numbing cream prescribed.
