• Threading – In this a twisted thread is rolled across the skin which catches hairs while it is being rolled over.

• Plucking – In this hairs are pulled out with tweezers.
• Taking prescribed oral medications
• Enzymatic treatment – This is used to inhibit the development of new hair cells. Hair growth will become less and less until it finally stops. Normal depilation or epilation will be performed until that time. Hair growth will return to normal if use of product discontinued. Products include the prescription drug Vaniqa.

Now let’s move to the permanent hair removal methods -

A number of methods have been developed that use chemicals, energy of varying types, or a combination to target the areas that regulate hair growth. All the permanent hair removal methods have to be administered only by professional and experienced dermatologists to avoid the possibility of any major side effect or repercussions.

Methods include:

• Electrolysis – It is a way of permanent removal of individual hairs from the face or body. Today's medical electrolysis devices destroy the growth center of the hair with chemical or heat energy. A very fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle at the surface of the skin. The hair is then removed harmlessly with forceps.

• Laser - Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that makes use of laser light to remove unwanted hairs. The hair follicles from where the hairs start growing are targeted by the laser beam consequently destroying these follicles instantly. Such treatment delays the regrowth of hairs.
